A piece of the USS Higbee DD-806 still remains above the ocean.

I don't know if anyone turned this up before, but I was really excited to know that a piece of our Higbee is still above sea level.  One of the Higbee's anchors is on display in Florida, at the Branch Medical and Dental Clinic, Naval Station,  Mayport, Florida!   I found this on one of the Navy websites.

The text explains the anchor is from USS Higbee, DD-806.  Although it says she was a "World War II era destroyer"-- maybe we need to set the Navy photographer straight on that one, eh?
